If you suspect the impeller is causing issues with your filter, follow these simple steps to check and diagnose any potential problems. Remember, a malfunctioning impeller can significantly reduce water flow, and it's essential to check it regularly.

Important Safety Notice

Before starting any maintenance:

  • Unplug the filter from the mains electricity supply.

  • Always refer to your product instruction manual for specific guidance. Can be found on the product page of the item you purchased.

Step 1: Turn Off the Unit

  • Ensure the filter is completely powered off before starting any checks.

Step 2: Unclip the Head Unit

  • Use the side clips to detach the motor head from the main body of the filter.

  • Place the head unit upside down to expose the impeller area.

Step 3: Access the Impeller

  • On the underside of the motor head, you’ll see a center piece with four spindles.

  • Twist the spindles to unlock the cover and reveal the impeller.

Step 4: Check the Impeller's Condition

  • Gently remove the impeller from its housing.

  • Inspect the fan piece: It should rotate halfway and then stop.

  • If the fan rotates completely 360°, this indicates a faulty impeller that needs replacement.

Step 5: Check for Blockages

  • Impeller issues are often caused by debris or algae that wrap around the impeller, restricting movement.

  • If the fan is unable to spin properly, this can reduce water flow and filter efficiency.

Step 6: Reassemble the Filter

  • Once the impeller is checked and cleaned (or replaced), carefully reassemble the unit.
