Cleaning or replacing the media in your 700IF+ filter is straightforward. Here’s how to do it properly:

1. Ceramic Media:

  • The ceramic media at the top of the filter can be rinsed and reused for a long period. Only replace it when it starts to wear down or disintegrate.

2. Shaft and Ballast:

  • Inside the filter, you'll notice the shaft is fixed to the ballast. This is normal, so do not attempt to remove it.

3. Filter Sponge:

  • The filter sponge is easy to remove from the casing. Simply take it out and rinse it in a bucket of aquarium water (not tap water) to remove any debris or dirt. This will preserve the beneficial bacteria in the sponge.

4. Replacing Media:

  • If you need to replace the media, we offer the media and case as a replacement kit. These are available on our website for easy ordering.

Cleaning the media regularly helps to maintain good water quality and filter efficiency.
